Aviation Fuel (Jet fuel)

Learn How Our Jet Fuel Prices Are Calculated

At Atlantic Gas & Energy, we provide transparent and reliable information about our Jet Fuel prices. Our Jet Fuel Price Index is calculated using S&P Global Platts' proprietary daily assessments. The index incorporates spot prices for Jet Fuel from various regional centers. The previous working day's spot assessment is utilized if a market is not assessed on a particular day. The methodology involves individual Platts assessments, weighted by regional baskets and further weighted in the Global Composite Index. This percentage figure reflects the overall market rise compared to the base period. Rest assured that the Jet Fuel Price Index methodology and data are the intellectual property of S&P Global Platts, a division of the McGraw-Hill Companies. We are committed to providing accurate and up-to-date Jet Fuel pricing information to meet your aviation needs.

D6 Diesel Bunker Fuel

Atlantic Gas & Energy

Power Your Generators with D6 Bunker Fuel Oil

D6 Bunker Fuel Oil, or Virgin Fuel Oil or Residual Fuel Oil, is a high-viscosity fuel mainly used in power plants and large ships. This fuel type requires preheating before use and is unsuitable for smaller engines or vessels. While residual fuel oil offers advantages in power generation, its viscosity and higher pollutant content necessitate careful handling. Experience the reliability and performance of our D6 Bunker Fuel Oil for your power requirements.

D6 Diesel Standards and Classification

Two crucial indexes, CCAI and CII, are utilized to assess the ignition quality of residual fuel oil, with CCAI being the more commonly calculated index for marine fuels.

However, despite these indices, marine fuels are still traded on the global bunker markets based on their maximum viscosity, as prescribed by the ISO 8217 standard (referenced below). This approach is necessary because marine engines are designed to accommodate various viscosities of fuel.

The unit of viscosity used for measurement is the Centistoke, and below is a list of the most frequently quoted D6 fuels, arranged in ascending order of cost, with the least expensive listed first-

  • IFO 380 – Intermediate d6 fuel oil with a maximum viscosity of 380 Centistokes
  • IFO 180 – Intermediate d6 fuel oil with a maximum viscosity of 180 Centistokes
  • LS 380 – Low sulfur (<1.5%) intermediate d6 fuel oil with a maximum viscosity of 380 Centistokes
  • LS 180 – Low sulfur (<1.5%) intermediate d6 fuel oil with a maximum viscosity of 180 Centistokes
  • MDO – Marine diesel oil
  • MGO – Marine gasoil

EN-590 Diesel ULSD

Drive with Confidence Using EN-590 Diesel

EN-590 Diesel, or Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel, is the standard automotive diesel fuel for European Union countries, Croatia, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland. It has lower sulfur content, resulting in reduced emissions of sulfur oxides, contributing to cleaner air in urban areas. The EN 590 standard specifies the physical properties that all automotive diesel fuel must meet. Choose our EN-590 Diesel for superior performance and a cleaner environment.

ULTRA-LOW SULFUR NO 2 DIESEL

Embrace Cleaner and More Efficient Diesel Fuel

Ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) is a diesel fuel type with significantly reduced sulfur content, making it environmentally friendly. Using advanced emissions control technologies, ULSD effectively lowers harmful emissions from diesel combustion. It has been the standard diesel fuel in Europe and North America since 2006, adhering to stricter emissions regulations. Our US Gulf Coast Ultra-Low Sulfur No 2 Diesel Spot Price provides the latest pricing information.
